Simple Self-Care Tips To Fit Your Busy Schedule

Some people end their day in the hot tub, but it’s where I start mine. You’ll find me in it most mornings just before the sun comes up. It’s the perfect preparation for what I might face during the day as Brand Manager for Caldera. Outside of my work life, I’m an ageing distance runner and a remedial yoga student. Using my hot tub is more of a necessity for me than a luxury; how else could I get my stiff knees to fold into the hero pose?

During the years I’ve used a hot tub, I’ve found it helps me slow down my hectic life, connect with my spouse and connect with myself. Overall my health seems better and I definitely sleep better when I’m able to soak 20 or 30 minutes before bedtime. When I’m not working on the look and feel of the Caldera brand as the Marketing Creative Manager, I fit in a hard workout—weights, spin classes, running/walking—for an hour, five days a week. A hot tub helps relieve sore muscles from working out, and at the same time, it’s very meditative. After a ramped-up day, it’s nice to take things down a few notches.

Working with Caldera Spas as a copywriter is a good fit, because my family had a hot tub at our cabin in Washington state for many years. Using it on weekends when we traveled over the Cascades was always a great way to connect with my family and work out the aches and pains of the week. I always looked forward to sitting quietly in the warm water, especially in the winter while the snow fell. You just can't beat that.
